Volcanic Plateau in the United States
It is a unique geological region known for its vast volcanic landforms and rich geological history. Usually composed of ancient lava flows that emerged from volcanic eruptions at some point in Earth's history, then cooled and solidified to form flat highlands. Often displaying a desolate yet spectacular beauty, its surface is covered with black basalt, which, due to its hard texture, can resist erosion and maintain the flat shape of the plateau. In some places, these lava flows form columnar joints, which are hexagonal or polygonal stone pillars formed by the contraction of cooled lava.
